• “The stock of global empathy has to grow if we are to meet agreements which out the long term needs of the whole planet and all its people ahead of short term national concerns.”

—”NEARLY ONE BILLION PEOPLE LIVE WITHOUT CLEAN DRINKING WATER.”

  • Water affects everything; education, health, poverty and especially women and children.
  • In different places around the world, women and children spend more time collecting water than any other activity they do in the day. Many walk up to three hours a day to the nearest swamp, pond or river to gather water that’s been sitting out in the open, exposed to all kinds of germs.
  • When they make it home, the little water they’ve collected isn’t clean. Is contaminated with germs that cause diarrhea, dehydration, even death.
  • Children, especially babies, are affected most by these germs… According to the organization Charity Water, about every nineteen seconds a mother loses one of her children to a water related illness.
  • There are solutions. A safe water project near an affected area means less disease; therefore, less money spent on medicine and more hours each day to a person’s life. This time is opportunity. It’s freedom to get an education, to work or start a business, to raise a family.

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON

The story behind an iconic poster that was borne in World War Two.

  • In the spring of 1939 during the build-up to war with Germany the British government commissioned a series of propaganda posters. These posters were intended to raise the morale and to offer the public reassurance in the dark days that lay ahead. One of the three designs was never distributed, it was held in reserve – intended for use only in times of crisis or invasion. The poster was never officially issued and remained unseen by the public until a copy turned up more than 50 years later. This short film tells the story behind the ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ poster, its origins at the beginning of World War Two and its rediscovery in a second-hand bookshop in the UK in 2000, becoming one of the iconic images of the 21st century.

“fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on…”

I know this is a controversial subject. It’s just hard to take the government seriously after we just spent a hellish decade in a neighboring country we were led to believe had weapons of mass destruction, yet none were found. [X]

Security camera clips that make the news usually show bad things, but Coke decided to “look at the world a little differently” in this heartwarming viral video. They found security camera footage from around the world showing happy moments: people stealing kisses instead of possessions, dealing potato chips instead of drugs, and offering car assistance rather than road rage.
